The Logistics Academy has initiated in 2019 and has successfully completed 189 Professional Driver Learnerships to date.  This is in alignment with SAQA ID 50285 and targets unemployed youth from local communities who are from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.

The training spans 12 months and the theory training is completed in 50 days. (2,5 months) and the workplace experience at the employer premises is completed in 9 months. The learner’s portfolio includes 100 logged hours of driving which includes the following compulsory conditions:

• Night driving – at least 5 hours.
• Driving in wet weather conditions – at least 5 logged hours.
• Freeway driving – at least 20 logged hours.
• Driving in low and high density traffic – at least 20 logged hours.
